Migration. Joe Concra and Kevin Paulsen

Migration, rich surfaces of contrasting themes and styles by Joe Concra and Kevin Paulsen; also on view Robert Swedroe and Mike Tesch

Joe Concra
His painting seem to emerge from a world not known, one that is more fantastical and other wprldly. His wprk is engaging and playful yet conveys an underlying depth and reflection.

Mike Tesch

Mike Tesch's work is alive, bursting with color, makes a statement, is stimulating and humorous. Tesch believes art should contain a point of view that reveals something about the artist and opens a window for a new kind of comprehension by its viewers.  Tesch is a soft spoken man with a bold stroke of the brush and a sharp wit that resonates not only in his paintings but throughout his powerful quote collection entitled,"Quotes".  He professes to the theory--When in doubt, risk it.

Robert M. Swedroe
Collages and Installation.
Kelley Roy Gallery hosts a show featuring the compelling, spirited three dimensional assemblages of Miami artist and architect Robert M. Swedroe. The exhibition consists of the artist’s vividly colored collages, ranging from the whimsical to the dark, and including an imposing eight feet by ten feet floor installation.

Kevin Paulsen
His painting depict lush, paradisiacal trees and semi-mythical creatures, sweeping the viewer into a semi-tropical realm that evokes a sense of myth and connection to history.

John Henry: Unveiled Sculpture

The Chattanooga-based artist has a long-standing interest in the concept of works of art encompassing large tracts of land, a process also embraced by Jean Claude and Christo. Henry’s works grace numerous important museums, corporate, public and private collections as well as the collections of many American, European and Asian municipalities. Internationally recognizable since the early 1960s, his works range in scale from small tabletop pieces to some of the largest contemporary metal sculpture in the world. His recent exhibitions of works include New Monuments at the Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis, Missouri; Back on the Plaza on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile; In the Shadow of the Alps at Art-St-Urban in St. Urban, Switzerland; OPEN 2007 in Venice, Italy; ODYSSEY at Purdue University, North Central campus in Westville, Indiana; the 2006 Vancouver Biennale in British Columbia, and the 2007 Sarasota Season of Sculpture in Sarasota, Florida.
