Marilyn Manson, When I get old, Watercolor, 2002, 30 x 22 in

Until February 20
Marilyn Manson, Trismegistus
Multi-talented artist Marilyn Manson, legendary for the cult status of his music career and persona, has simultaneously been creating a large and remarkable body of painting over the past two decades that will be revealed for the first time in the U.S. Just as Manson’s lyrics are provocative, driving the expressive form of music to its limits, the artist’s paintings, though aesthetically pleasing, play with the grotesque and confront the viewer with the dark side of the American Dream – its obsessions and pitfalls. This exhibition of more than twenty paintings is presented by the Cologne-based Galerie Brigitte Schenk in cooperation with 101 Exhibit, a dynamic new art space in Miami’s Design District.
The artist known as Marilyn Manson took his pseudonym from the names Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson – figures whom he sees as reflecting the ultimate and most disturbing dualism of American culture. “Marilyn Manson is a living work of art and an anti-popstar.“ stated his gallerist Brigitte Schenk.

Gerhard Mantz. Virtual Landscapes
Mantz’s digital interpretations of landscapes are sculpted to evoke feelings and moods; the viewer enters the visual environment with an immediate emotional response. At first glance the images appear realistic but, upon closer inspection, the seemingly realistic details shift to reveal a strange virtual realm more closely associated with an interior reality than with the exterior world.
Gerhard Mantz was born in 1950 in Neu Ulm, Germany and currently lives and works in Berlin. His work has been shown extensively in Germany and Europe since the early 1980s and today enjoys an international reputation. Mantz’s digital art is included in the group show “Minus Space” at New York’s PS1 Contemporary Art Center / MoMA.
LUMAS offers new collectors and all art lovers a diverse selection of works by some 120 established and young artists. More than 940 works are available as original photographs in editions of 75 to 150, signed by the artist. These editions allow LUMAS to offer affordable prices between $200 and $800 on average. LUMAS’s goal is to make top-class museum-quality art photographs affordable for everyone. |

Shie Moreno and Leonardo Hidalgo. Art from the Street.
Steve Martin. Oils, gouaches and wires
Andrew Muggleton.Contemporary Furniture
Leonardo Hildalgo. Breaking the mold of traditional portraiture, Ecuadorian born Hidalgo crosses the line between graphic art and fine art. His recent work focus in on his subject’s face. He holds firm that eyes are windows of the soul and that a person essence is captured within. Hidalgo portraits are more than a reflection of a person’s image.
A privy selection of Shie Moreno’s work will be showcased in the Lawrence Savage Galleries. Shie continues to impact contemporary art scenes, drawing audiences beyond fanatics who track his marks in urban landscapes. The manifestations of his art reflect his connections with the urban context, his Cuban ethnicity, and his spiritual roots. Shie’s pieces are illustrative of his experiences and emulate a sense of spontaneity poised with an earnest examination of color, letter forms, and composition.
Lawrence Savage expanded from his home base in Coral Gables (4217 Ponce de Leon Blvd.) to two new art spaces: Lawrence Savage Galleries in the Design District (66 NE 40th St.) and east village gallery in the Wynwood Art District ( 3450 N Miami Ave.). The three galleries will be featuring Art from the Street artists as Shie Moeno and Leonardo Hidalgo, among others.
